In October, a delegation from Ab&B Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. JS visited Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, and Spain to conduct multinational exchange and cooperation activities. The purpose of these activities was to gain a deeper understanding of local policy mechanisms, business environments, R&D cooperation, and industrialization opportunities in the vaccine sector, exploring potential business partnerships and market opportunities for the company in overseas markets.
The delegation was led by Mr. An Youcai, Chairman and General Manager of Ab&B Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. JS, accompanied by the company’s international affairs team. During the visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with local government agencies, universities, and industry associations in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, and Spain. The goal was to familiarize themselves with the medical and pharmaceutical ecosystems of these countries and explore global business development strategies for Ab&B Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. JS.
The delegation first arrived in Brazil, where they were warmly received by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Secretariat (SECTICS) of the Brazilian Ministry of Health. Both sides exchanged views on national immunization policies, international cooperation, and government procurement, discussing pathways and requirements for the entry of China’s innovative vaccines into Brazil. The delegation also visited the Brazilian Immunization Society and the Brazilian National Immunization Program, gaining detailed insights into Brazil’s vaccine R&D, production, and distribution.
Next, the delegation traveled to Uruguay, where they hosted a promotional seminar for the tetravalent influenza virus subunit vaccine, Huierkangxin, at the Biotechnology Development Department of the University of the Republic’s Health Research Institute. A cooperation framework agreement was signed with the university, outlining plans for global industrial production and sales of human-use innovative vaccines. The delegation also met with Director Castillo of the International Relations and Cooperation Department of Uruguay’s Ministry of Health, presenting updates on the collaboration with the University of the Republic and seeking guidance to elevate the project to a higher-level cooperation framework. During their stay, the delegation visited Uruguay’s Minister of Industry to discuss vaccine product registration and technology transfer and toured local biotech company ATGen, inspecting vaccine filling line infrastructure.
In Chile, the delegation visited the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the University of Chile. They also attended the 2023 CPHI Barcelona (World Pharmaceutical Ingredients Europe Exhibition) in Spain, showcasing China’s high-quality vaccines and exploring potential collaborations with international stakeholders, laying a foundation for the global expansion of innovative human vaccines.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The October visit coincided with the successful conclusion of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, further aligning the delegation’s efforts with China’s global cooperation vision.
